Hi my name is Wendy McDonald and I've been on Whittle-le-Woods Parish Council for the past 3 years and hopefully many more to come.
I'm married and have 3 children, 2 boys aged 15 and 19 and a daughter aged 21. I enjoy being an active member of the council helping to organise activities for our young people and helping alongside other councillors to provide a range of activities for other ages to.
I have lived in the parish all my 43 years ( and many more to come) and love this village. We are very lucky to be so close to the countryside yet the benefits of our growing community.
The great thing about this village is its friendly people, you can guarantee that you will always get a hello as you walk around. My day job is a Teaching Assistant at Manor Road Primary School, currently in Reception Class. I'm passionate about my job and thoroughly enjoy it. When I'm not working I really like being outside and enjoy lots of walking around the area with my family and dog.
Also I go to Pilates, Aerobics and enjoy socialising in the local pubs. A few years ago now I set up a Facebook group to promote community spirit and provide somewhere to chat with others in the village about the past and present, it seems to be doing its job.
